The Water Tunnel Laser is an innovative laser technique developed by Sun Vascular Clinic. It uses a special protective solution that surrounds the vein in a water tunnel form, preventing damage to the surrounding tissues and skin even when exposed to high-temperature laser energy.

Before the laser catheter that generates heat is inserted, a space of about 1 mm is created under the skin. A thin catheter is then placed outside the vein, and the protective solution is injected to form a water tunnel around the vessel. This special solution contains a tumescent anesthetic, which eliminates pain and absorbs harmful by-products generated during laser surgery. It also protects nearby tissues and nerves from potential injury. The front tip of the catheter used to inject the solution is designed with a rounded blunt needle, not a sharp one, to prevent damage to the skin and vascular tissue.
